An Eulogy to Our Earth is a participatory installation that invites audiences into a collective act of reflection, gratitude, and ecological awareness, through projection mapping, soundscape design, handcrafted kinetic sculpture, NFC enabled props, EEG brainwave technology and guided ritual.

At its center, a circular sheer fabric form creates a translucent “atmospheric body,” onto which a slow, meditative dance is projected, appearing to breathe within the air. There’s audio prompts on a public speaker as ritual guide and subtitles/texts projected onto the fabric where participants will be invited to read parts of the scripts in the middle of the ritual. Placed on the floor in the center of the fabric circle, a single kinetic hand-cut paper sculpture—acts as a collective instrument.

Ten participants sit in a circle and take part in a guided eulogy ceremony. Each wears an EEG headband that captures real-time brainwave activity. Their data is combined into a shared signal that drives the motion of the kinetic sculpture on the ground.

As the blades of the sculpture turn, they generate subtle airflow that animates the fabric below. The projected dance ripples and shifts in response, forming a continuous feedback loop between mind, air, and image. No individual controls the system; instead, the environment emerges from a shared field of attention.

The work is activated through multiple sessions throughout the showcase, each lasting approximately 10–15 minutes and accommodating up to 10 participants per session, allowing a broad range of festival visitors to engage directly with the experience.

Both ritual and responsive system, the installation transforms invisible internal states into a shared atmospheric experience—proposing interdependence as a lived, embodied condition.
