
Voyo Woo is a paper cutting artist based in Washington, DC. Born in a coastal city in Southeast China, she moved to the United States in 2008. Voyo first learned paper cutting when she was 14 years old and later won first prize in China's "Shuanglong Cup" National Painting and Calligraphy Competition.
After coming to the US, she became actively involved in promoting Chinese paper cutting in America. In December 2011 she was invited to perform live paper cutting at the Freer & Sackler Galleries of Arts, Smithsonian. You can check out the Freer event video here:
She has also been invited to speak at various events, including the China Fair at the Madeira School, the DC Photography 2011 Annual Event, and other private events.
